Victorian Association of Miniature Enthusiasts
VAME
The Victorian Association of Miniature Enthusiasts (VAME) is based in Melbourne, Australia and was incorporated with the purpose of encouraging increased interest in dollhouses and miniatures in Victoria in a non-competitive and sharing manner. The intent is to collate, promote and utilise the skills of miniaturists throughout the state for the benefit of all Members.
Interaction between the numerous miniature clubs is also encouraged.
VAME facilitates the organisation of regular low-cost workshops - one per month from February to November - where you can learn to make your own miniature pieces for your collection or even to try a new hobby. These are held at the Mt Waverley Community Centre, close to public transport and parking. In May each year, a major Workshop weekend event is organised by VAME, held in a rural location but within reasonable driving distance from Melbourne.
In July each year, VAME hosts their annual Miniatures Exhibition and Fair, where local and interstate traders sell their miniature goods. The Exhibition of miniature masterpieces on display are all made by VAME Members and a treat to behold! Please see the Event Calendar for more information on our Miniatures Exhibition and Fair.
VAME has an extensive library of Miniature related books and DVD's which members are able to borrow at no cost. A monthly online Newsletter is sent out, to each Member, and keeps VAME members informed about miniature and craft events in Victoria and throughout Australia. It includes workshops and articles written by Members about their miniature-related activities and experiences and also has the current Workshop flier showing what projects are being offered.
The association is managed by a committed and enthusiastic group of volunteers.
